Yet another public access defibrillator has been installed in Kingswood – making a tally of seven serving the village.

The unit is located in Weavers Close, at the junction with Hillesley Road.

"We're very grateful to the householder involved and to Andy Roe for fitting it," said Dr. David Owen who runs the Kingswood and Wotton Defib Awareness Group.

Ideally a defibrillator should be with a patient who is suffering a cardiac arrest within five minutes of collapse, he said.

"You can see why it is so vital to have more defibs in the community, and it is incredibly important people know where your nearest defibs are located."

This successful installation marks another chapter in the group's campaign to have a first-class coverage of defibs in the catchment of the two GP practices that serve the area.
